Elizabeth was born December 28, 1821 [sic] in Wythe Co. VA. She was raised in Tennessee
and married there February 4, 1840, to William C. Heaton. After bearing 12 children in
16 years she died between 1856 and 1860 and is buried in McFarlane "Hill" Cemetery, near
Russellville TN, along with two of her children, Mary D. and Willy C. Heaton. William C.
Heaton, Sr. was reputed to be an alcoholic. He deserted the Confederacy during the Civil
War and fled back to his family in New Jersey, taking only some of his children with him.
The rest of the children remained in Tennessee with the Andrusses.
