A photocopy of a letter typewritten by George was included in Merriam's and Barbara's
1985 book. It was addressed to "Mr & Mrs Edward Andruss". There were four Edward
Andrusses alive at that time, but a fair guess based on their address would be Edward
b. 1863 and his wife Florence (perhaps someone can clear this up). The letter
reads:
Mar. 31st, 1916. Mr & Mrs Edward Andruss, Holden, Mo. My Dear Cousins:- I dont suppose that it will be a surprise to learn that Georgia will make you a visit soon, for I am sure she has written you, but thought I would write and so inform you. If it is convient for one of you or both would like for you to meet her in Kansas City she will no doubt advise you what day to expect her. I regret that I cannot be with her for we have always wished we could make you a visit, but perhaps at some later date we can make a trip togather. Edward while she is there I want you to have a talk with her, she has been so nerveous the past year or so and I want you to give her some thing to releive it if possible, it seems impossible for me to get her to have the doctors here treat her. I often want her to take treatment from a doctor but seems that she wont consent to it. She will show you the greatest boy you ever saw, at least we think he is the greatest and I believe you will agree with us when you see him. Trusting that you are all well and with much love to all I am, Your cousin, [signed Geo W Andruss] Rollie wrote me a few weeks ago that Uncle Dop died on the 15th of last month, perhaps you have heard of it. He was burried at Bowie, Texas his old home but died in Oklahoma as he and his boys lived there. |
